The Tabernacle is a shadow pointing to the greater Reality of the meeting of God and man in the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son. Exodus chapters 25-27 describe the Tabernacle, moving from the inside out, from the Holy of Holies to the Holy Place to the courtyard outside the tent. The courtyard was dominated by a large wooden altar overlaid with bronze. We have an altar, but the altar that we have is not like this one...
