Remarkable passage. We recount Israel's recent
history and then hear the remarkable revelation of
God's Name and Nature.  Kind, compassionate,
merciful... but also just.  Moses pleads with God for
grace and as we will see the covenant will be
re-established in the rest of the chapter (future
study).  We will see:
