Paul lost something that was very dear to his old self, he lost his confidence. most people thank that when someone loses their confidence that it is a bad thing, but in the spiritual realm it is considered a good thing in certain instances. Paul lost his confidence in to things that were very important to him, those two things were his pedigree and his degree. he lost that vain confidence and gained something that he considered his greatest gain.
