Introduction
II. Coveting & Sin
A. Desires Lead to Actions (Matt. 15:18-19)
David's sin with Bathsheba began as a sinful desire
(breaking the 10th Commandment), moved to deceptive
actions and lies (breaking the 9th Commandment), the
stealing of another man's wife (breaking the 8th
Commandment), committing adultery with her (breaking
the 7th Commandment), and finally killing her
husband—Uriah (breaking the 6th Commandment).
B. Dissatisfaction Always Leads to Sin
III. Covetousness & Idolatry
A. Covetousness is Idolatry (Col. 3:5; Eph. 5:5)
B. The Cycle of Holiness
Conclusion
Jesus First. Others Second. Yourself Last.
Keep your life free from the love of money, and be
content with what you have, for He has said, “I will
never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can
confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not
fear; what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6
