Protestants believe that Mary is blessed to be chosen as the mother of Jesus, and blessed to be a believer in Him. However, her blessedness goes no farther than this, and in this respect, she is no more special than any other ordinary believer. She is not the Mother of God, for God has no mother. She is not a co-mediator or a co-redeemer. She was not immaculately conceived and she did not ascend bodily to heaven.
