The godly man has his refusals (v.1), but he also has his committals (v.2). Godliness necessitates a turning from sin unto God, a refusing of the counsels of the ungodly (v.1) AND a commitment to the counsels of God (v.2). Thus, where v.1 spoke of the negative holiness of a godly man, v.2 speaks of his positive holiness. There are two parts to his positive holiness, but in this sermon we only address the first: he delights in the law of the Lord. We'll consider several questions: What does this mean? How can a sinner delight in the law of God? What does this look like? Do we delight in the law of God?
