In this sermon, we begin following the account of the resurrection of Jesus from the Gospel of John. Without the resurrection, the whole of the Christian faith is vain. As Paul said,
“But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain” (1 Corinthians 15:13-14).
But the resurrection is the climax of His story! In this we find life and hope for the bleakest of hours. Because of the resurrection of Jesus, a death bed is but a dirty doormat that we use to wipe our feet before entering into the pleasures of eternity. The vilest disease is but an instrument to prick us to the very presence of God. The end of earth is only the beginning true living.
And that is why this message sparks change and breeds spiritual life wherever it goes!
