See the stark contrast between the lost and those who belong to Christ, and always think of yourself as no longer your own, but Christ's. 3. They are so wretched (vv. 17c-19). Learn to loathe the world's immorality, especially when you see any of it in your own life. 4. Christ has taught you His new way (vv. 20, 21). Embrace Christ Himself as the way to godliness. 5. Be done with the old (v. 22). Renounce your old deceitful mindset and habits. 6. Be renewed in your mind (v. 23). Seek inward spiritual renewal above all. 7. Begin the new life of holy righteousness (v. 24). Look for the fruit of God's grace in your new lifestyle.
