In his farewell discourse, Jesus tells his disciples that they will experience a time of sorrow when they see him no more, but then they will experience a time of joy when they see him again. He was evidently telling them of his coming death and resurrection. And the joy that they will receive from his resurrection will be a joy that cannot be taken from them. That same permanent joy is ours who believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. Life has its ups and downs, but for the disciple of Jesus - resurrection joy is always with us and every day is a good day because Jesus rose from the dead!
