The fact that salvation is of God, and comes as the result of God's grace is evident from these verses.
How has that grace appeared? To whom has it come? If grace is working in us how is it operative, and what is the power that enables God's grace to make a difference in our lives?
The changes that are possible through grace enable the believer to deny those behaviours and attitudes that belong to this world, and instead we are moved to live soberly, with due reverence towards God, who is holy, just and righteous.
Through grace we look forward to that 'Blessed Hope', the return of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. The blessings of God, and the expectation of Heaven are a stimulous towards living for Him now.
Through grace God bought Himself a people, a set-apart people, His own special people - the Church, made up of born-again Jews and Gentiles, peoples of different tribes and tongues.
Titus was encouraged to - "these things speak", and so are we!
