For our second-hour service, Pastor Simpson returned to teaching on the epistles, and beginning with an understanding of who Paul is, his accomplishments, and his merits. As we think about terrorism in our day, we should relate Paul with the same zeal as Muslim terrorists of our day. Pastor Simpson walked through the acts of Paul when he was against the church (Acts 26:10-11). Paul hated the church and the message of Jesus until his spiritually blinded eyes were opened by the power of God. Paul saw all his own righteousness, and righteous he was; for Paul was a success in all that he did, but he counted those things as loss for his Lord - the Lord Jesus. Paul would settle for nothing less than to surrender all his good for the cause of Christ Jesus.
We'd ask this morning, what are you passionate about? What are you living for? Wealth, fame, respect, or popularity?? Today's message offered stern encouragement to surrender it all for Jesus.
