The revelation given by God of earth’s final days is of a forthcoming disaster preceding the rest of God’s plan for a new heavens and new earth. In the new heavens and new earth God will once again dwell among His people. Events and circumstances that will happen leading up to that time prepare God’s people, Israel to be in their land and for the temple to be rebuilt. As God’s people living today as the Church, we should be living in anticipation of the rapture that will occur prior to the beginning of this seven-year tribulation on the earth. Signs in the heavens portend the coming wrath of God. Terror by cataclysmic effects from the natural world while being fully controlled by God are fully out of the control of the earth-dwellers who are living out their rebellion against the Lord. Riches, prosperity, nor success on the earth will insulate from the physical effects of God’s wrath. Worldly status is leveled by the judgments to come. Even then simple faith in Jesus Christ will provide full deliverance from God’s eternal wrath and for most who become believers at that time, entrance by means of martyrdom into the presence of the Lord in heaven.
