All Christians believe that the salvation of God's people is conditional. The question is whether the conditions were part of a bilateral covenant that places requirements on both God and man, or whether the conditions part of a unilateral covenant fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. When one looks at man's inability to keep his end of the old covenant (Rom 3:20) alongside the bible's claims regarding the accomplishments of the Lord Jesus Christ, it becomes apparent that if any are to be saved, it will be because God himself has met the conditions of salvation on behalf of his people. (Rom 8)
