We conclude our series on the Intimate Connection Between Theology and Ministry with Biblical Counseling, part of the "Practice of Ministry" branch of the tree image.
The crux here is the sufficiency of Scripture. That isn't to say, as one member quipped, "read two chapters and call me in the morning." Biblical counseling involves the gospel message, repentance, faith, sanctification, striving against sin, and the application of Biblical truths to people's life issues.
The Bible doesn't exist just to teach us doctrinal or theological truths: it's for all of life.
What is included in the sufficiency of Scripture for people to overcome even serious issues that are often considered "addictions" or "mental health issues" is the loving care, assistance, resources, and accountability of a sound, mature local church.
