We have been spending the last year dealing with Postmodernity and Christianity: Worldviews in Collision, and then Divine Authority in an Age of Uncertainty. Needless to say we have been steeped in the filth of modern thought and its devastating impact upon our culture. But we have also seen how extensively it has influenced the modern church as well. In fact, we are convinced that, apart from a thorough renewal brought about by a heaven-sent revival, the church in Western culture will continue to decline, even as we find ourselves in the midst of a decaying culture. Our hope must not be in the kingdoms of this world, but in the kingdom of God! Therefore, a class on the subject of the Kingdom of God seems appropriate at this very time.
Tonight we continue our examination of the presence of that kingdom as we look at how pervasively the kingdom extends in the life of the Christian and, geographically, how far the kingdom extends over the earth, and through time. The character resulting in the kingdom of God must be understood by citizens of the kingdom, all of whom are subjects of the King.
