Summary, Part 4 (final) B. WOMEN ARE ACCORDED SPECIAL MINISTRY IN THE CHURCH [40:13]. In Luke 8, women accompanied Jesus and His disciples in His ministry. Scripture enshrines many of their names for their contributions to the church. In Titus, older women are encouraged to counsel younger women to be excellent wives. They have valuable roles in missions. QUESTION [47:09]: Women, are you content with the roles that God has given you in the church? The Bible regards feminism as radical rebellion against God (1 Tim 2:8-15). C. WOMEN ARE HEIRS OF THE EVERLASTING GLORY [54:29]. There are other religions that don’t even afford women glory beyond this life, but God makes it clear in His word that He does. “Heaven wouldn’t be heaven without redeemed femininity being there.” QUESTION: Women, is this truth your happiness now and your hope forever?

Summary, Part 3 IV. HOW THE RELIGION OF THE BIBLE DIGNIFIES WOMEN IN REDEMPTION [32:11]. A. WOMEN ARE EXALTED AS MEMBERS OF CHRIST’S BODY ON EARTH. The Bible elevates Christian women. Gal 3:26-29: Paul is not denying social distinctions here. In spite of them, Christians all stand equally in the body of Christ. Peter commands Christian husbands to value and honor their wives. QUESTIONS [37:38]: 1. Women, do you exalt in, and seek to live up to, your exalted status in the eyes of God? Do your conduct and appearance reflect the honor God has given you? 2. Men, do you consciously regard the dignity of Christian women, viewing them as daughters of the King, especially those closest to you? Do we guard their purity and protect their reputation? Do we thank them for their precious influence?

Summary, Part 2 OBSERVATION [15:38]: the most dignified women in the world relish the crowning role God has given them. Feminism degrades women. It reduces them from the crown of man to his competitor and subject. Is 3:12 could appear in today’s newspapers. B. AS WIVES [19:00]. Paul tells us that singleness is a gift: few people are content alone. But God said at the beginning that it is not good for man to be alone. Wives are another gift. God’s institution of marriage cures man’s loneliness and blessing, and pictures Christ’s relationship to His church. With Christian spouses, marriage blunts the effects of the fall: men’s brutality and women’s rebellion. C. AS MOTHERS [27:00]. Mothers replenish the earth and mitigate the effects of the fall. Timothy had no godly influence from his father, but he did have it from his mother and grandmother. Augustine had been dismissed by his godly mother as a reprobate, but in time the Lord gave her gospel seed the increase and Augustine became a revered church father. LESSON: Mothers, behold your God-given nobility. Christian mothers are doubly-dignified, both as mothers and as Christians.

Summary, Part 1 As we began to discuss last week, the Bible’s religion dignifies women far more than any other religion does. Where the Bible loses its sway in a society, the dignity of womanhood decreases. III. HOW THE RELIGION OF THE BIBLE DIGNIFIES WOMEN IN PROVIDENCE [starting at 5:05 of the audio]. With regard to providence, the Bible dignifies women in general. A. AS INDIVIDUALS. The Bible accords women equal dignity with men. Adam and Eve together constituted the image of God. Where Adam is the federal head of our race, Eve is its mother. Because of their sin, there is no such thing as an innocent baby, despite its appearance. Jesus by His miraculous conception was the sole exception. The fall did not change the uniqueness of men and women, nor their standing with each other (1 Cor 11:8-9). But sadly, as we saw last week, we have abused our standings throughout history and caused tremendous grief: male chauvinism and female feminism. That woman was created for the man is not sexist: that is modern feminist doctrine. In fact, it shows men how essential women are to us.
