The conversation between the Shulamite and the “daughters of Jerusalem,” begun in verse eight of chapter five, is continued into the sixth chapter. The first question posed by Solomon's harem to the spouse was “What is thy beloved more than another beloved” (5:9)? She proceeded to give them in verses 10-16 such a glowing description of her Beloved, that they now ask a second question in 6:1 “Whither is thy beloved gone… that we may seek him with thee?” With the first question they were burning with curiosity. With the second they are animated with desire. Are we so enthralled with Jesus, our Heavenly Bridegroom, that even the unsaved around us will be curious to know more about Him and will be desirous that we would lead them to Him?
