One of the often overlooked details of the account of Christ's triumphal entry to Jerusalem is that concerning the colt upon which He was to ride. There is no record of the Lord ever riding upon an animal at any other time in His public ministry, but on this occasion, He did so in order to fulfill the ancient prophecy of Zechariah. But the truly striking aspect of the text is that which the Lord told His disciples to say if they should be challenged in obtaining the colt and its mother. "The Lord hath need of him."
