Charles Spurgeon said, "The great guide of the world is fashion and its god is respectability--two phantoms at which brave men laugh! How many of you look around on society to know what to do; you watch the general current and then float upon it; you study the popular breeze and shift your sails to suit it. True men do not so! You ask--Is it fashionable? If it be fashionable, it must be done. Fashion is the law of multitudes, but it is nothing more than the common consent of fools"

A version of this quote opens Tullian Tchividjian's new book, "Unfashinable: Making a Differece in the World by Being Different"

"Plainly, powerfully, and pastorally, Unfashionable gives a birds-eye view of the real Christian life-Christ-centered, church-committed, kingdom-contoured, future-focused, and counter-cultural all the way. It makes for a truly nutritious read."
-J.I. Packer, Professor of theology at Regent College and author of Knowing God

"With the right balance of reproof and encouragement, critique and construction, Unfashionable displays with succinct, vivid, and engaging clarity the relevance of the gospel over the trivialities that dominate our lives and our churches right now. The message of this book is of ultimate importance and its presentation is compelling."
-Michael Horton, J. Gresham Machen Professor, Westminster Seminary in California and host of The White Horse Inn

On the program today, I will speak with Tullian about his latest book "Unfashionable"

About the author: William Graham Tullian Tchividjian, the founding pastor of New City Presbyterian Church, has recently accepted a call to serve Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church as their senior pastor.
