God is absolutely righteous. One day, he will judge all men according to His own righteous standard, that is Himself. He will do so fairly and without prejudice to either Jews, who have the Law, or Gentiles, who have God's law in another form. All men will be judged according to their deeds in the flesh, whether good or evil. The righteous will be vindicated, and the wicked will be condemned, according to their works. Even now conscience bears witness to our works, excusing us from judgment when we do right, but accusing and condemning us when we do wrong. Our own consciences will either vindicate or condemn us when God judges the world in righeousness at the last day—and this proclamation must be preached, as it belongs to the Gospel message.
