This is a must hear sermon! The Christian life is not lawlessness. There have been some in every age of the Church that have attempted to turn the grace of God into a license to sin. Antinomianism within the church seeks to confess Christ with the mouth while blaspheming Him with a sinful life. It is a battle between a cheap manmade grace and the sovereign saving grace of God. We must not dispensationalize the person of Christ. We cannot divide His Lordship from His work and identity as Savior. You are not saved in Christ from the wrath to come unless you are saved by the LORD Jesus Christ unto righteous works of obedience. The Lord Jesus defined the narrow path of saving faith, thus putting to death the doctrines of Antinomianism with these powerful words, 'Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23'And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'' (Matt. 7:21-23). James contends for the same definition of saving faith in saying simply, 'faith without works is dead' (James 2:26). May the Word of God sanctify our hearts and minds unto the Lord, continually putting to death the vestiges of Antinomianism that remain in us individually and the Body of Christ corporately.
