They need to come to Jesus because of sin. 1) The Substitutionary Death of Christ is necessary because of sin. It is an offering for sin. We look into the OT to see how an animal had to die in the place of an offender. Leviticus 5:17,18. We also see the substitutionary death of Christ was once for sin. We also see how the bible was written to express the purpose of God to fulfill the purpose of God to supply Jesus as an offering for sin. We also see how the death of Christ is the just being put to death for the unjust. 2) The Substitutionary death of Christ makes Atonement. The OT offerings in the Tabernacle could not make perfect in Hebrews 9:1-9. Christ appeared in the presence of God for us, to put away sin, vs 24-28. Remember, the death of Christ is Substitutionary and it is because of sin. 3) The Outcome of the Substitutionary Death of Christ. It obtained eternal redemption for us, it purged the conscience, enabled us to receive an eternal inheritance.
