John Calvin puts it in perspective when he states: “Whatever poison Satan produces, God turns it into medicine for his elect.” In other words: “When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.” We can react in fear like Joseph’s brothers, or we can respond with forgiveness and faith like Joseph.
It all becomes clear at the cross. Nothing, not even the death of God’s own Son, happens apart from God’s own sovereign will and control.
