We find ourselves again this morning in the sermon series The Worship That Pleases God, and we will begin the new section indicated above. After a brief review in which I give my rationale for what we have covered thus far, I will begin this section which is going to be quite pointed and practical with respect to the outworking of the principles I have already established. Today we will consider the word of God as the chief element in the worship of God. That goes against the grain of modern worship, and would probably be a strange concept to the typical Christian. But I hope to demonstrate the truthfulness of the idea, and to so carry your conscience that you will agree with it. Therefore, I am hopeful that the Lord will be pleased to grant us a great measure of spiritual discernment and heavenly wisdom from this sermon, and those that will follow in this important section.
