Tonight's message continues the series on “The Fear of the Lord.” In the previous sessions we examined how the Bible defines Godly fear, good reasons for Godly fear, how Jesus viewed Godly fear, Godly fear and wisdom, how the fear of God is created, the fear of God and forgiveness, and the fear of God and the ultimate questions. The message this evening examines the fear of God & dying victoriously. The end of life confronts mankind with the meaning of Life. For the unbeliever, death is the unraveling consequence of the fall of Adam into disobedience and sin. For the believing Christian, death is the event that opens the way into finally receiving the promises that God has showered on His people since Man's beginning. Christ offered Himself as “the resurrection and the life.” By faith, the believer perceives and hopes for this resurrection and an eternal, unfolding life of communion with Him in the presence of God, in the kingdom prepared by Christ. Dying in the hope of God's promises, in faith in the One who created all, and who can never fail is to die victoriously.
