Jesus led them out as far as Bethany and from there ascended into heaven. This is were Jesus Christ charged them to serve the great commission. They left for Jerusalem with great joy as we all should have in Christ our Lord. When we finally see the world we used to love and hold so dear through God's eyes, we see a very different place and have the need to pull more people out of the cesspool. We must be careful to hold God's word, our gathering to the local church and prayer in high regard, respect and reverence as it deserves, then we experience the joy The Lord allows us to have in Him. And to tell others about Christ and His salvation!
