Nebuchadnezzar followed up his dream of the statue, that was interpreted by Daniel, by building a image of himself and demanding worship by every person be directed to it. Daniel's three friends are on the scene and refuse knowing the death threat of being thrown into a fiery furnace. Their faith displays complete devotion and commitment to the Most High God of heaven as they are unwilling to compromise to appease the king and protect themselves. God has determined the number of our days and there be no man who can override God's plan. Being steadfast and faithful day by day is the way to be ready for the threatening challenges to compromise in worship, witness, or work for the Most High God.
