Great faith is identified by our ability to make the belief in God's resurrecting power relevant to our own personal circumstances, thus impacting the way we live our lives now. It is only by believing in the resurrection that the great enemy, death, is seen to have no power and can be looked upon without fear. When death is rendered powerless in our eyes, then so too are its lesser intimidations such as the threat of pain or the removing of some temporal possession or comfort. It becomes more and more evident, as we mature in the Lord, that a firm belief in the power of God to raise the dead is foundational to effective Kingdom service in this sin infected world. We see too that, in a mysterious way, the Lord has made our prayers truly significant in the out working of His Kingdom plans. This does not mean that the Lord needs our help, for ultimately our prayers are for our own benefit, building and maturing within us Kingdom qualities like: real faith, self-sacrifice, submissive hearts, desiring others to be blessed and zeal for the advancing of the Kingdom. May the Lord burn into the depths of our being great trust in Him and zealous passion to be involved in His Kingdom work through prayer.
