Tonight's message continues the series on “The Fear of the Lord.” In the previous sessions we examined how the Bible defines Godly fear, good reasons for Godly fear, how Jesus viewed Godly fear, Godly fear and wisdom, how the fear of God is created, and the fear of God and forgiveness. The message this evening examines the the fear of God and the ultimate questions in life that always confront mankind – that of the meaning of Life. King Solomon in his wisdom, wealth, power and position examined every possible dimension in life and concluded in the opening of his book, Ecclesiastes that “… vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” This sense of life being meaningless, with its crushing disappointments, leads many to an endless quest for something to fill life with meaning and satisfaction. Such meaning can be found only in fulfillment of God's purposes for man. Ecclesiastes ends with: “… Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”
