The people of Jeremiahs day had rejected God, they had refused His ways, they had refused His will for their lives and now they were reaping the results of that rejection. They were invaded by a foreign foe and they were laid captive. Jeremiah watched emotionally as all this unfolded, His heart broke as He watched a people dying in their sin and it was out of that anguish and distress that He uttered these words (Jeremiah 8:20)... "The harvest is past, The summer is ended, And we are not saved!" The meaning of this is that time was running out on them, time was passing but still they were not right with God. Christian how does your heart feel when we see people today dying in sin? Do we at any time feel anguish or pain for the world God loves as they live and die without Him? Do we ever say about those even who are close to us that the harvest is past, the summer is ended but they are not saved? Time is passing on them, summers are ending every year but they still are not saved...
