Isaiah 49:1-13 is the second of four Servant Songs which tells of the Servant's mission and spiritual success. It is prophecy that is in a 'time-capsule,' which gives the message of the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 1 is the DIVINE CALL of the Servant, Jesus Christ. Verse 2 tells of the EQUIPPING of the Servant. Verse 3 POSITIONS the Servant, Israel, to show the glory of God. What should we be doing? REFLECTING the glory of the Father and GIVING a reason for the hope that is within us.
