Faggart tells the stories of early great American Baptist preachers such as John Clarke, Obadiah Holmes, John Leland, John Ireland, Shubal Stearns, Valentine Wightman and others. He also tells of the influence George Whitfield had on the Baptists. The faithfulness of these men is inspiring. Their lives and ministries need to be rediscovered by modern Baptists.
