Although Jacob had little spiritual awareness when he lay down to sleep in the place he would afterward call Bethel, the faithful God of the covenant would not allow Jacob to go on in his waywardness. He revealed Himself to Jacob in the famous dream of the ladder, and demonstrated to him that there was still only one way in which to approach God and that was through God's appointed mediator. The Lord Jesus Christ made it very clear that the ladder in Jacob's dream was a picture of the Savior Himself, making Jacob's dream into a Gospel message. The great comfort of the dream is that God promises to accomplish all that He has purposed concerning His people and will intervene to bring that purpose to pass.

A Very Uplifting Sermon ! A very touching and uplifting sermon for those of us who feel that God is finished with us or forgotten us.
Pastor David Mook reminds us that the God of Jacob is still our God and just as he undertook for Jacob so will he bring us to our expected end. Here is a quote from this sermon that truly comforted my soul - “We may feel cast down and forsaken at times, we may even be careless and indifferent at times, but God’s word is, He will not abandon His people. He will accomplish all that He has purposed concerning them. In the midst of discouragement or even of loneliness you have the assurance of God’s promised intervention in your life. In the midst of anguish and pain you have the assurance that God will not leave you; that He has a purpose to accomplish concerning you and that He will accomplish that purpose. The fact that you are still alive is evidence that God is still not finished with you in this world. So if you are alive today God still has work for you to do whatever your age, whatever your ability!”
A must hear sermon for all the discouraged and dejected children of God!
