Samuel Hendrickson was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. His mother and father were Lutheran, but early in Sam’s life they became part of the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. In 1982 Sam earned the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, and went to work for companies in the Medical Manufacturing, and Automation Measurement & Controls industries.
