During my 15+ years under his preaching, I've observed his growth in the clarity of the Gospel's fullness, and a resolute determination to preach the whole counsel of God, in recogntion of the importance of all portions of Scripture. As a preacher, he exposits the word of God with careful handling of the texts, aiming to extract the things of Christ from the Bible. As a pastor, he leads his flock well, caring for the welfare of his congregants. As a writer, he labors with a sense of urgency, as evidenced by the frequency of his articles and social media posts (as well as their subject matter). As a citizen, he lives a life that is exemplary of a believer, and exhibits the heart of a missionary, in his interactions with strangers. He is a pursuer of Christ, who not only commands and exhorts, but also inspires, others to seek The Lord. Heshimu has pastored since 1998, establishing The Gospel Church from a San Jose State University bible study and radio broadcast.
