"Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city." Proverbs 9:1-3
As we continue to consider wisdom, it is imperative to keep this truth in mind – Wisdom is synonymous with Jesus Christ. In other words, wisdom is more than just a philosophy. Wisdom is the mind of Christ expressed to humans. Somehow, in my mind, this makes the idea that wisdom would be so freely dispensed that much more precious. These words are Christ’s words! In conjunction with this thought, we also learn this about Christ: He is not arrogant or aloof! He does not stand far off, but instead is approachable and more than willing to freely give of His wisdom. In this passage, a feast of wisdom is prepared for those who will listen, and a welcoming call is heralded. What a Savior Christ is. What love He has for His own. He is not ashamed to call us brethren, and He beckons us to His feast. This should be comforting and encouraging news to you today. The One who owns all the storehouses of wisdom is not so put out by your foolishness that He will refuse to help you today.
