Everyday Wisdom | Proverbs 8:17

“I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.” Proverbs 8:17

Guilt paralyzes. Truth frees. Often, the burden of guilt of sins past and sins present weighs like an anchor, threatening to plunge to the depths of despair and lifelessness. The thought of productive, victorious living seems beyond grasp or reason. Too many years with too many losses, too many broken resolutions, too much lost time. But, what does the voice of truth say? Wisdom (Jesus Christ) speaks. His imputed righteousness cleanses from all sin. His love is not some fairy tale notion but has been proven once and for all by His own blood being poured out on a cruel cross. Could there be any clearer expression of the reality of His cleansing love than giving His own life? On the basis of that love, we find real hope for wisdom for today. “Those that seek me early shall find me.” What a promise! Today, you can walk in wisdom. You don’t have to wait to atone for past failures. Christ’s blood has already accomplished that. Today, wisdom beckons, and will not withdraw its welcoming hand when we reach for it.
