What do you do when find yourself in conflict ? When you are falsely accused or your reputation is smeared? What is the first thing you should do when it seems that it is going from bad to worse? The answer is to count it all joy. In James 1:2-3 we read: My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. (NKJV) To count it all joy means to think of the trial as an opportunity for good to be produced in you, remembering that God is for us.
I have learned four essential steps to take when conflict comes:Own up to your own faults. If you have done something wrong admit it and try to make it right. (1) Don’t take the attack personally especially if you are being attacked because of your walk with the Lord. (2) If you do take it personally you will do or say something that will put you at fault and make resolution of the conflict more difficult. (3) Watch out for the Devils Four D'sDistractionDespairDivisionDiscouragement (4) Pray for the person coming against you and ask the LORD to be your shield and to defend you. Don't have a fool for a defender, yourself, have the Lord as your defense.
And finally, if the conflict is because of your witness for Christ: "Be ready to give a reason for your faith" because as people observe your Christ like manner in a time of trouble they may ask you why you believe. The result of all of this will be endurance. You will one more time know how God is able to keep you even in troubled times.
