On a return flight from India I was seated in the very back row. One of the the other passengers came and stood in the back when suddenly he went down. It was like life departed from his body leaving behind a heavy carcass that hit the floor hard. He came to and we helped him up and then he passed out again. Apparently he was dehydrated and for want of water he was unable to remain conscious. When you fly you have to drink lots of water.
In Isaiah 55:1 we read: “Ho! Everyone who thirsts,Come to the waters; And you who have no money,Come, buy and eat.Yes, come, buy wine and milkWithout money and without price. (NKJV)
In this wonderful verse, the vendor calls out- Here, over Here- if you’re thirsty come over here. Imagine the lure of that call when your throat is parched and faint from the heat. But, how will you pay for it? The call goes out: come you who have no money, buy and eat. Imagine free food and water without money and without price. The message is that God will provide for this need. The longed for food and drink was salvation and God has provided salvation without charge to the saved. You come hungry and thirsty and are filled and satisfied. You come bound and enslaved and are set free. You exchange your shackles for salvation; the price of which is paid for in full by God. Jesus died and paid in full for all charges against you, all you need do is believe in Him and live.
