When I was six years old we were sent out to invite all of our friends in the neighborhood to Vacation Bible School. So I went from door to door asking my friends to come because for every friend who came I would receive a prize. At one door I was rejected. I heard the mother call out, "No you can’t go, we have our own religion."

The children of Israel, the descendants of Jacob; were God's special people. They had a unique relationship with God, a covenant given just to them and for them, and expectation of blessing that was for them alone. But, they were not alone in God’s love. When God sent His Son, He would not come just for Israel but for the rest who would believe also.

In Isaiah 49:6 we read: Indeed He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ” (Isaiah 49:6 NKJV)

God sent His Son Jesus, a descendant of Israel, a Son of Abraham, the promised seed, to seek and save the lost sheep of Israel but also to be a light to the gentiles. To sum it up, God sent His Son for everyone so that His salvation would be everywhere on earth. There is no place on earth where God’s love will not reach. Israel and all the rest can be saved if we believe in the One God sent, His Son Jesus Christ.

If you see the light of the Son of God, step into it and be cleansed of your sins, be set free from your enslavement and begin to walk in the newness of life that only comes from God in His Son Jesus Christ.
