Giving Up False Belief - Radio Broadcast for October 12, 2012 I have a friend in Oregon who likes to introduce me as a former minor celebrity. I always feel like like it's a double punch because of the words former and minor. Jesus had become a public figure, admired by a some but disapproved of by many.
There was a saying in those days: Three things come unexpectedly: 1. A thing found by chance. 2. The sting of a scorpion: and, 3. The Messiah. * This saying instructed that the Messiah would appear mysteriously, like falling out of the sky. In John 7:27 we read: However, we know where this Man is from; but when the Christ comes, no one knows where He is from.” NKJV
They had made up their minds and to believe that Jesus was the Messiah they would have to let go of this unbiblical teaching. Many today are good church going folks who believe that salvation comes through membership in the church and their good deeds. For such a person to be saved, they too would have to give up their false belief to accept the real Christ. You don't need the church between you and Christ, you need to receive Christ and be a part of His Church.
Is there some mis-truth that keeps you from believing in Christ? If so, let it go and join with Christ, follow Him, become His. He will surround you with life and fill with His presence.
