L. Ron Hubbard, a little known pulp fiction author struck it big when he switched from science fiction to scientology. He transformed his ideas into a religion that many believe will clear themselves of negative emotions. Mr. Hubbard’s interesting ideas have lightened the wallets and erected walls of confusion around his followers.
In John 7:16 we read: Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me.
The Jewish leaders were astonished when they heard Jesus teach. How could He teach so well when they hadn’t trained Him? Jesus answered them and said, “My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. Jesus quickly pointed to the source of His material, to His Father. Jesus did not declare His own ideas but His Fathers. He was a master at teaching the Word of God because of course He was the Word of God.
What a great example Jesus gave us, that we teach God’s Word, not our own ideas. Cults usually sprout from a grain of truth grown into a bushel of lies. A man or woman begins to teach their own ideas, their own twisted truth and from that rises a generational religious structure that continues to twist the truth.
What we need is to simply teach the Word of God simply. The world doesn’t need another religious coach; we need God’s Word taught with clarity, anointing and conviction. This will draw the lost and equip the found.
