"Knowing The Truth" with Pastor Kevin Boling is a live, call-in radio program providing Doctrinal Dialog, Cultural Commentary and Insightful Interviews with some of today's foremost Christian authors and leaders.
On the 1st half of the program today, I will speak with J.C. Derrick from WORLD Magizine about his recent article, entitled: "Disabilities group opposes U.N. Treaty: Joni and Friends has concerns about the treaty’s effect on parental rights, the rights of the unborn with disabilities, and U.S. sovereignty".
On the 2nd half of the program today we will talk about how Affirmative Action hurts students it is intended to help. The video below shows the case of Abigal Fisher who was denied admission to UT. The US Supreme Court just heard oral arguements in this case. My guest on the program today will be Richard Sanders who filed an amicus brief in the case and has written an op-ed recently in the Wash. Post.
Richard Sander and Stuart Taylor have long admired affirmative action’s original goals of jump-starting racial integration, but after many years of studying racial preferences, they reached a controversial but undeniable conclusion: racial preferences hurt the very underrepresented minorities they were intended to help. At the heart of affirmative action’s failure is a simple phenomenon called “mismatch.”
Richard Sander is a law professor and economist at UCLA whose article on the affirmative action “mismatch” problem is one of the most widely-read law review articles ever written. He’s a leading legal authority on affirmative action and a renowned scholar on social policy who has appeared on national television and radio. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and the Los Angeles Times have all written extensively about his work. He resides in Los Angeles.
The “Knowing The Truth” Radio Program, originates in Greenvile, SC on a 50,000 watt station covering all of South Carolina, as well as parts of North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
Additionally, the program is available nationally and internationally by means of a daily live webcast via the Internet. The program airs live on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00am - 12:00 noon EST on Christian Talk 660AM and 92.9FM.
