Cyber-Lynch Mob "Raging" out of Control
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2013

After encouraging one another to work up a "rage" and then to act on it, Julie Anne Smith (of spiritualsoundingboard.com) and her slander blitz crew are tweeting out sexually explicit accusations to the world at #whowouldjesussue. True to character, Julie Anne’s tweets are far more sexually charged, disgusting, and defamatory than all the rest put together. While most of the accusations at #whowouldjesussue fall short of Julie Anne’s shock-jock perversion, they still include bold defamatory accusations of “child abuse.”

A question must be asked of all those who got their “rage” up and carried torches and pitchforks in Julie Anne’s lynch mob. When you don't actually know if a man is guilty of anything how can you justify the global destruction that you are bringing upon him, his wife, his church, Chuck Smith, Calvary Chapel, etc.? Yesterday you put a “child abuse” noose around a man’s neck and hung him publicly on the internet. You hung his wife from a branch alongside of him. You hung Chuck Smith just down the way in Costa Mesa, from an old oak tree planted in 1965 that has borne much good Gospel fruit. You’ve got the rest of Calvary Chapel’s pastors all noosed up and ready to hang next.

A Word for the cyber-lynch mob:

“You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. 2 You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.” (Ex 23:1-2)

In America you are innocent until proven guilty, NOT guilty until proven innocent. And certainly NOT guilty because Julie Anne Smith says so on her twitter, facebook, and slander-blog. Julie Anne’s cyberbullies are abusing the liberty of Free Speech by declaring a man and his wife "GUILTY" of vile crimes in the global court of public opinion (hundreds of tweets, facebook entries, slander-blogs) and then seeking to ruin them in their church, denomination, and community with their accusations of “child abuse” guilt to news agencies, churches, and Christian leaders across America. That is called defamation. It is against the law. It is against God's law, and against our nation's laws. It destroys lives, men, women, children, churches, ministries, schools, businesses, clubs, and organizations. Julie Anne Smith is playing judge, her slander-blogging friends play jury, and her extended cyberbully crew play the executioner throwing the switch on their virtual electric chair.

As evil as genuine child abuse is, we cannot afford to let lynch mob rule become the de facto law of the land. Who will be cyber-lynched next? Have you ever given counsel that wasn’t well received? Have you ever placed someone under church discipline? Have you ever had to fire an employee? Does anyone have an axe to grind with you, your church, your denomination, your theology, your Bible, the Gospel you preach, or the Lord Jesus whom you serve? YOU could be next. YOU, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR CHURCH, AND YOUR DENOMINATION may one day see the glow of torches and glint of pitchforks coming to put an “abuse” noose around your neck/s.

The Lord Jesus warned us:

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub (the Devil), how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.” (Matt 10:24-26)

Don’t be quick to abandon those who are viciously and relentlessly accused by cyberbully/slander-bloggers. Don’t turn a blind eye to those lynched pastors you see swinging from the nearest tree outside the church. CUT THEM DOWN! And don't condemn the necessary legal posse (lawsuit) that seeks to hold the lynch mob accountable for their unlawful hangings and the incredible destruction they are bringing upon lives, families (women & children), churches, denominations, and the Body of Christ as a whole.

If you disagree with Matthew Henry, Albert Barnes, and John Calvin (see below) regarding the unfortunate, rare, but very real necessity of lawsuits to stop evil doers, you really should disagree humbly until you have experienced the cyber-lynch mob’s suffocating “abuse” rope around your own neck for a year, two years, four years, or perhaps eight years. You really should disagree very mildly until you have watched the cyber-lynch mob's filthy "abuse" noose tighten around your wife's throat as they string her up next to you. You really should disagree very mildly until you see your children strung up by Julie Anne Smith's "rage" filled, cyber-lynch mob. You really should disagree very mildly until you have watched Julie Anne Smith, Meaghan Varela, and their fellow lynchers hang a precious family from your congregation with their vindictive lies. Finally, you really should disagree very mildly in light of the fact that these are three (Henry, Barnes, Calvin) of the Bible interpreters that pretty much every sound Christian, Bible student, Bible teacher, expository preacher, and pastor look to and quote on regular occasion to aid them in understanding and communicating the truth of God’s holy Word.

MATTHEW HENRY (CHARLES SPURGEON’S FAVORITE BIBLE COMMENTATOR) COMMENTS ON 1 COR. 6
“Here is at least an intimation that they went to law for trivial matters, things of little value; for the apostle blames them that they did not suffer wrong rather than go to law (v. 7), which must be understood of matters not very important. In matters of great damage to ourselves or families, we may use lawful means to right ourselves. We are not bound to sit down and suffer the injury tamely, without stirring for our own relief; but, in matters of small consequence, it is better to put up with the wrong. Christians should be of a forgiving temper. And it is more for their ease and honor to suffer small injuries and inconveniences than seem to be contentious.”

ALBERT BARNES COMMENTS ON 1 COR. 6
“Where a Christian is INJURED in his person, character, or property, he has a right to seek redress. Courts, are instituted for the protection and defense of the innocent and the peaceable against the fraudulent, the wicked, and the violent. And a Christian owes it to his country, to his family, and to himself, that the man who has injured him should receive the proper punishment. The peace and welfare of the community demand it. If a man murders my wife or child, I owe it to the laws and to my country, to justice and to God, to endeavor to have the law enforced. So if a man robs my property, or injures my character, I may owe it to OTHERS as well as to myself that the law in such a case should be executed, and the rights of others also be secured.”

JOHN CALVIN COMMENTS ON 1 COR. 6
As for those who strictly condemn all legal contentions, let them realize that they therewith repudiate God’s holy ordinance, and one of the class of gifts that can be clean to the clean [Titus 1:15], unless, perchance, they wish to accuse Paul of a shameful act, since he both repelled the slanders of his accusers, exposing at the same time their craft and malice [Acts 24:12 ff.], and in court claimed for himself the privilege of Roman citizenship [Acts 16:37; 22:1, 25], and, when there was need, appealed from the unjust judge to the judgment seat of Caesar [Acts 25:10-11]… Such men should therefore understand that lawsuits are permissible if rightly used. There is right use, both for the plaintiff in suing and for the accused in defending himself, if the defendant presents himself on the appointed day and with such exception, as he can, defends himself without bitterness, but only with this intent, to defend what is his by right, and if on the other hand, the plaintiff, undeservedly oppressed either in his person or in his property, puts himself in the care of the magistrate, makes his complaint, and seeks what is fair and good.”
