Almost a week ago Eleanor and I arrived safely in Saint Petersburg, Russia. By your prayers, we made all of our flight connections (despite a late departure from the States) and found Pastor Oleg waiting for us when we walked out of the gate in Russia. All of our bags arrived with us (Praise God!), and we breezed through customs. God was truly gracious in all these things.
Now we've hit the ground running with ministry events and programs. This past weekend was greatly blessed of God. On Saturday, the entire day was spent in teaching a Family Discipleship Seminar to a joint conference sponsored by Presbyterian and Baptist churches in the city of Pavlovsk. Sunday morning consisted of a joint Presbyterian/Baptist service in St. Petersburg followed by a joint luncheon with the afternoon and evening given to teaching parents on disciplining their teens.
This next week we will focus on family and church discipleship before departing on Saturday for Tyumen in Siberia. Eleanor and I will spend a month in Tyumen teaching and exhorting believers in the areas of personal evangelism and the family.
Please continue to pray for us as we labor in the harvest fields of Russia. Would you beseech the Lord on our behalf for safe travels, stamina, and the faithful preaching of His Holy, Inerrant, Written Word.
By His Mercy, II Corinthians 4:1 Rev. John S. Mahon Grace Community Int. - Saint Petersburg, Russia
