As has already been emphasized, the Proverbs 31 description of the virtuous woman can be intimidating and overwhelming. Godly women are often painfully aware of their perceived inadequacies. This verse, then, should be a helpful encouragement. Focus on walking in the fear of God, and everything else will fall into place. Measure your pursuits by Godliness. In walking in the fear of the Lord, God will provide the needed grace, strength, and wisdom to enable you to accomplish what needs to be accomplished. What a precious promise! She that fears the Lord will be praised. She will not look back in regret at the deceit and vanity of her endeavors. Ultimately, it is grace that empowers and equips any life that is lived well. And God delights to dispense grace to those who seek after Him. His grace fills in the gaps of our mistakes and inadequacy. His grace gives strength to the weary. His grace corrects wrong thinking. His grace never runs dry. Therefore, the wise yet needy woman walks in the fear of God. She shall be praised.
