It is alarming to me at how many people who claim to be Christian have no understanding of how to properly examine themselves and even more concerning is the number of professed Christians who don't care about properly examining their profession. Why are so many people who sit in what we would consider conservative churches so disinterested in self-examination and what does a Biblical self-examination look like? These questions would take much more than one blog to answer so I will attempt to answer the former in this blog and the later in another. I believe that the vast majority of professed Christians who sit in what would be considered good churches are not interested in self-examination because we have been infected with Arminianism. Follow me on this, the problem in all our churches whether they are Calvinistic or Arminian is that salvation has been reduced to work of man. I hear preachers say that salvation is a work of God, but when you listen to how they preach, they preach as if everyone in their church is saved and that leads people into deep deception. You and I have been effected by this modern day "God wants to make you feel good" and "Alls you have to do is believe in Jesus" Christianity and if you can't identify it you falling deeper into it. We just can't believe that God does really send people to hell and that because it is what we deserve. I sense that so many are deceived because the preacher says "If you are not sure saved, then turn to Jesus right now and place all your faith in him" and that is where it is left. Therefore everybody under the sound of his voice says, "oh, I have done that already so I must already be saved." I beg you to stop calling yourself a Christian if you do not know how to Biblically examine yourself!
