Yesterday, We read where David ask the question, "Who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill"? Today, in Psalm 24, David asks, "who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?" "who may stand in His holy place?"
The one who has a clean heart. How can you have a clean heart? The one who has a clean heart is the one who has his heart washed in the blood of the Lamb. Then, one with a clean heart is one who asks the Lord to purge that sinful heart, to wash their heart so that they can be clean, one who asks the Lord to renew a right spirit within.
Then, the one with the clean heart can have clean hands. Clean hands are clean actions. They are hands which take up righteous actions through grace. They are hands which serve others. They are hands which exalt Christ.
Also, David states the one who will enter the holy hill of the Lord is one who has not lifted up his soul to an idol. Now, we would not set up an idol in our homes to fall down to worship. However, listen to Colossian 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:. Paul informs us here, covetousness is idolaty. If we will stand in the holy hill of God, we must guard against covetousness.
Finally, David mentions the one who will stand in the holy place is one who has not sworn deceitfully. If we will stand in the holy hill, we must not stand deceitfully; bearing false witness or cheating a man through a false oath.
What is the promise? If you do these things, you will receive blessings from the Lord. I love to be blessed by the Lord. If you have not been experiencing what you would call blessings from God, maybe you should concentrate on putting the actions described by David into practice.
