“These are also proverbs of Solomon, which the men of Hezekiah king of Judah copied out.” Proverbs 25:1
While this is given to us as an informative statement, it is also a reminder to us of the value of wisdom. I imagine that Hezekiah was a busy man. A king has the weight of a kingdom on his shoulders, and there are always issues to address. However, this king thought that is was so important to perpetuate wisdom, that he had his men take the time to copy the writings of Solomon. This took time and resources that could have been spent in other areas; yet the benefit of preserving this wisdom is one that we partake of even now. How concerned are you with knowing and perpetuating truth? May we take the example of Hezekiah here, and commit to invest our place our time and resources into promoting wisdom.
