“The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.” Proverbs 18:15
It is not God’s will for you to live in fear. Read that sentence again. Many sincere followers of God sadly find themselves bound by fear. On the surface, the fear seems well-placed. The fear I am referring to is the fear of not knowing God’s will for life. How will I know God’s will? Is this job opportunity, is this person I am interested in God’s will for my life? There are two words in this passage we need to grasp: seeketh and getteth. Those who seek knowledge get knowledge! Read that sentence again. Now, here is another important thing to understand. God does not normally dispense knowledge (His will) the way we might imagine. There is no scripture nor is there a heavenly neon sign that says, “This is the name of the girl you should marry.” Instead, God’s will (knowledge) is found through faith and obedience. God’s will is for you to obey His word. His will is for you to walk in faith. His will is for you to make life decisions based upon principles of wisdom found in His Word. As we learn to look to His word for wisdom, we will find ourselves walking with light (knowledge). A mystical search for God’s will is a search for a fearful existence.
